Fiji Red Cross Society Launches the first ever itaukei First Aid Manual

Today marked another milestone for Fiji Red Cross Society as the Safety department launched it’s first ever iTaukei First Aid manual.

This will enhance our service delivery in the vulnerable communities and also make the participants confident enough to respond during emergency.

“We will be able to reach out to more people as there will not be any language barrier”, said the Safety Coordinator Riaz Khan.

The FRCS team conducted it first trial of the manual at Vio Island where FRCS trained 20 participants. The Second trial was conducted at Rakiraki in two communities Nukulau & Narewa where 25 community member and 5 Volunteers attended and was successful. While the third and final trial was carried out in Vanua Levu (Seaqaqa – Navidamu) which was a success and have received successful stories on how they performed CPR and save the person who suffered heart attack .

This book will be used in all the FRCS communities and also will now work towards to have a Hindi version of this book.

The FRCS President Mr Wylie Clark officiated the program
this morning in the presence of the invited guests and the FRCS partners, staff and volunteers.
