HEAD OF STATE COMMENDS FIJI RED CROSS SOCIETY

The Fiji Red Cross Society received a commendation from His Excellency, President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere for their unwavering efforts in providing critical assistance to communities during times of disasters and emergencies.

In an esteemed meeting at the State House earlier this week, our Director General, Ms Ragigia Dawai, and Youth Commission Chair, Ms Sonika Narayan, had the distinct honour of engaging with His Excellency the President, who also serves as the Patron of the Fiji Red Cross Society.

Ms Dawai took the opportunity to present a comprehensive overview of the extensive humanitarian work carried out by the Fiji Red Cross, spanning local, regional, and international initiatives. The meeting emphasized the organization’s commitment to contributing to various sectors, including health programs, disaster risk management, climate change resilience, and humanitarian interventions.

Highlighting the pivotal role of the Fiji Red Cross in collaborating with the government to bolster the nation’s preparedness and response capabilities, Ms Dawai underscored the organization’s dedication to enhancing the well-being of Fiji’s communities.

His Excellency the President expressed his appreciation for the Fiji Red Cross Society’s dedication and significant contributions. He reiterated his role as Patron and pledged his continued support for the organization’s endeavours to serve the nation in times of need.

The meeting served as a testament to the Fiji Red Cross Society’s enduring commitment to humanitarian service, disaster relief, and community support, and reinforced the vital partnership between the organization and the government.
