RECONNECTING WITH OUR ROTUMA BRANCH: A NEW BEGINNING!

We are delighted to share that our team, led by our Director General, recently embarked on a momentous journey to Rotuma, marking a significant milestone in our relationship with the Rotuma Branch. This visit comes after several years, reinforcing our commitment to reconnecting and strengthening our support for the community.

Situated in the northern region of Fiji, Rotuma is a small island approximately 603 kilometres from Viti Levu, Fiji’s biggest and most populated island. This remote island has faced its share of challenges, including the impact of natural disasters. Notably, Tropical Cyclone Tino in 2020 had a profound effect on the island’s residents.

Our visit to Rotuma serves as a powerful symbol of solidarity and a new beginning. It signifies our dedication to understanding the unique needs and aspirations of the Rotuma community. By establishing direct connections and engaging with our Branch volunteers, we aim to forge a path of collaboration and support that aligns with their specific requirements.

The importance of this visit cannot be overstated. It allows us to witness firsthand the resilience and strength of the Rotuma community, while also providing an opportunity to explore avenues for growth, development, and tailored assistance.

As we reflect on the impact of natural disasters and other challenges faced by Rotuma, we reaffirm our commitment to being a reliable partner in their journey toward recovery and long-term sustainability. By fostering lasting relationships and actively engaging with the Rotuma Branch, we aspire to make a tangible difference in the lives of the people we serve.

We express our sincere appreciation to the Rotuma community for their warm hospitality and welcoming spirit. Together, we will navigate the path ahead, building a brighter future for Rotuma and its residents.

We will share updates and stories as we continue this exciting new chapter of reconnecting and collaborating with our Rotuma Branch.
